| The P180.2 is a 2-channel amp rated at 90 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Features include beefy gold-plated connections, a switchable high- or low-pass filter with variable cutoff frequency, and high-level input capability. This units heatsink design is indescribably bizarre. It seems to combine elements of Eastern architecture with 80s sci-fi movie lighting and military standard anti-tank armament. If at first glance it doesnt look a little offbeat, look again the longer you stare at it the cooler it looks. Performance The P180.2 performed quite well during our testing session, meeting, and in most cases exceeding, its published specs. The amp also seems to be built quite well. All of the connections and controls feel beefy and positive, and everything is laid out in a sensible manner. The turn off noise is a little high by competition standards, but if one spec has to fall short, let it be that one. Overall, the P180.2 is a sweet little piece. It has enough power and flexibility to be used either as an OEM upgrade or as the basis of a full-blown install. Please guys, send us one of the sub amps in the Power Series lineup for a review. If theyre as cool as the P180.2, you have quite a combination. Installation Mounting hardware is included, and the P180.2 should be small enough for under-seat mounting in many applications. Connections & Adjustments Connections to the P180.2 consist of RCA and speaker-level inputs, as well as captive-style terminal blocks for all power and speaker connections. The power and ground connections accept up to 4-gauge wire and speaker connections accept up to 8-gauge. Adjustments to the P180.2 consist of input sensitivity, crossover mode select, and cutoff frequency. Manual The manual included with this unit covers the seven amps in the Power Series line-up. Information is a bit sparse, and there are no system diagrams. But if you really need a chart to hook up a 2-channel amp, you should probably seek professional assistance. |
