The AutoBlast 2001 IASCA World Finals (Saturday, October 20 10:00 – 6:00 and Sunday, October 20 10:00-5:00), presented by Sirius Satellite Radio, is in the final stages of planning and everything will be set to roll when the doors open to the public exactly one month from today.Local retailer support from sponsors, Car Audio Masters, Freemans Car Stereo, and Tweeter Home Entertainment Group has been outstanding according to Tom Walker, President of IASCA. "Their participation in promoting this event has been more than we could have expected. Their efforts alone have already created a buzz with their customers that the World Finals is the place to be on October 20 & 21."
High School students at seven different area schools have signed on to participate in the inaugural IASCA High School Challenge at this event. In a special arrangement between local retailers and school administrators, student teams will receive grade points for their efforts to create and design an IASCA competition vehicle using IASCA’s Street Rules format. Retailers provide the vehicle, product from exhibiting manufacturers and guidance to the student teams. Vehicles will be judged in a special ceremony on Saturday, October 20 at the Merchandise Mart... Participating retailers and their chosen schools are:
Car Audio Masters
South Mecklenburg High School Sabers
Crazy Ben’s
East Lincoln High School
Freemans Car Stereo
Independence High School
Myers Park High School
Northwest Cabarrus High School
Weaver Education Center

Local car clubs will have a change to show off their vehicles at World Finals in a SLAPshow.com sanctioned custom car and truck show. Trophy presentation for these vehicles will take place on Sunday before the general awards ceremony for competition vehicles.
Photographers and scouts from Super Street magazine will be walking the show and competition floors to find outstanding vehicles to photograph in their portable photo studio onsite at the finals. Show attendees can watch as professionals work their magic to showcase each vehicle. Every vehicle chosen to be photographed will feature models provided by CircuitGirls.com and all will appear in future issues of the magazine. From these vehicles a "Best of Show" will be chosen and a full pull out poster will be created and included in an upcoming issue.
Two teams comprised of some of the industry’s top installers from Freemans Car Stereo of North Carolina and Mobile One of Louisiana will work for 48 hours non-stop on two identical vehicles to create an IASCA competition installation. When introduced at Spring Break Nationals, this portion of the event created a large crowd who were in awe of the activity, precision and professionalism each team portrayed. Starting time is 12:00 noon on Friday, October 19 through Sunday October 21. Vehicles will be judged for Sound Quality, Installation and Peoples Choice with each category worth $2,500.
The two day AutoBlast World Finals is a show within a show and a chance to see and hear some of the world’s most incredible cars, trucks and sound systems. In addition to the highly charged bikini contest sponsored by Ichibahn and CircuitGirls.com, the IASCA Finals will showcase two of Dale Earnhardt Jr.s’ personal cars (Freemans Car Stereo booth) and NASCAR fans can see Ricky Craven’s famous Tide Racing PPI Motorsports show car on display.
