The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) International Auto Salon has joined forces with the NOPI Nationals Motorsports Supershow to create the SEMA/NOPI International Auto Salon. The event is scheduled for February 9-11, 2001, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. The fourth annual show debuts the latest technologies in the import and performance compact market, which has grown by more than 150 percent since 1997 and which has exceeded more than $156 million in retail sales in 1999, according to SEMA research. The dynamic partnership between SEMA and NOPI, creating the new SEMA/NOPI International Auto Salon, will be the largest even in the world of its kind, featuring an impressive collection of import and performance compact vehicles from around the country as well as styling and performance/street products. Everything from souped-up Honda Civics to scorching Mitsubishi Eclipses, decked out with amazing colors and graphics, wild body kits and speed enhancing products, will be on display for all to admire.
"We view the alliance with the NOPI Nationals as the next logical step that will contribute to the growth of the hottest and fastest growing market of the automotive industry – the import and performance compact market," says SEMA president Charles R. Blum.
The SEMA/NOPI International Auto Salon enthusiastically welcomes all consumers as well as trade attendees. The three-day event will include one day for trade only on Friday, February 9 and two consumer days on Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11 for all of those enthusiasts who consider these sport compact vehicles as the "hot rods of today’s generation."
