The United States Autosound Competition International (USACI) has announced a fund-raising effort for the families of New York City firefighters who perished in the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center.Beginning immediately, donations for the families of the firefighters who died will be accepted at all USACI events through the end of the year.
"Myself and three other members of the USACI staff are trained volunteer firefighters, so we know how dangerous the job can be," explains USACI president Ralph Randall. "As an organization we wanted to help out in some small way."
Randall encouraged USACI competitors and event spectators to look for collection bins at upcoming events. All donations will be sent to the fund established for the New York firefighter families.
"A lot of people lost their lives in the attack - firefighters, policemen, military people and civilians. It was an incredible tragedy and those who suffered need our help."
