Ultimate Electronics, Inc. has announced plans to open stores in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.Ed McEntire, Ultimate Electronics’ CEO, states, "The Oklahoma City market represents an excellent opportunity for us to continue to execute our expansion plans. With a very successful store in Tulsa that has been open for almost five years, we are eager to bring the same level of quality and service to Oklahoma City. Two stores, whose leases are signed, are expected to open next summer. The stores will range in size from 33,000 to 36,000 square feet with the larger store serving as a base for the Company's Red Carpet Delivery Service and Ultimate's Fast Trak product repair center. With the addition of the two Oklahoma City stores, we now have nine new store openings planned over the next 15 months. We anticipate adding several more stores to that total in the coming months."
Each new store will feature a big screen television area showcasing approximately 50 large format televisions, three car audio demonstration rooms, five home audio demonstration areas, including multiple home theater settings and a Home Office area, including computers, fax machines, and telephones. In addition, there will be two demonstration vehicles showcasing the latest in audio/video applications and a six-bay mobile electronics install center. The stores will also offer professional home installation staffed with its own personnel. This professional staff will install a vast array of home audio and video products including home theater solutions, multiple room audio systems, and 18-inch satellite systems.
Dave Workman, president and chief operating officer, adds, "So far this year, we have relocated one store and opened two new stores in the Phoenix metropolitan area and are looking forward to opening Oklahoma City next year. We have refined our store design to showcase the new and ever-expanding lineup of digital products such as High Definition Television (HDTV), Digital Video Disc (DVD), Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS), Digital Camcorders, and other digital products for the home and the car. With the excellent prospects in the consumer electronics business, we look forward to continued growth in our store base in the years to come. Priority will continue to be given to those markets which can be served from our distribution facility in Colorado."
