Speedlink Internet Solutions Inc. announced it has been selected to provide Internet connection services to Code Technologies Inc for its GuidePoint telematics units -"location-specific" mobile Internet portals for consumer vehicles.Madison Heights Michigan based Code Technologies manufactures a variety of aftermarket telematics products that offer in vehicle navigation, emergency assistance, Internet access, email, and a variety of other services Formed late last year by Code-Alarm Inc. and Auto Club of America, Code technologies recently began shipping the GuidePoint products to dealers. Code technologies president and CEO in Rand Mueller, who founded Madison Heights-based Code-Alarm in 1980 and still serves as the companies vice chairman.
Speedlink, a Pontiac Michigan based provider of Internet solutions for business, said it was selected to customize the GuidePoint Systems Web site (www.guidepointsystems.com) for GPS tracking of vehicles. This customization includes the Database, applications, E-commerce, portions of the Web site that provide access to GuidePoint consumers, the dealers and the call center. Speedlink has also been designated to ensure all GuidePoint Systems product dealers have reliable in store Internet connections.
Emphasizing consumer safety, security, and convenience services, GuidePoint Systems features a 24/7 call center operated by Auto Club of America, vehicle diagnostics, stolen vehicle recovery, emergency roadside assistance, location-based yellow pages, real time traffic reports, interactive navigation, and concierge services localized information on nearby hotels, nearby gas stations, and restaurants.
