Ecko Team Racing Update - August 2001

August was a stellar month for the Ecko Unlimited Drag Car presented by DC Sports as it sped its way into the history books and to yet another national race win. On August 25th at round three of Englishtown's Import Survival Series, Gary Gardella blazed the Ecko Drag Car down the quarter-mile in 9.47 seconds with a top speed of 161.73 mph, establishing a new top speed record for front wheel drive unibody cars! Then, on August 26th, Gary and the Ecko Unlimited Drag Car came out to play at the Atco round of Battle of the Imports. At the end of the day, it was Gary Gardella and the Ecko Drag Car taking the Pro Import class win, recording an E.T. of 9.24 seconds with a top speed of 159 mph. The next place to catch the fastest front wheel drive unibody car is at the IDRC Island Dragway round on September 2nd before the team joins up with the NOPI Nationals Tour on September 15th and 16th!
