Sony is driving added entertainment value for car audio enthusiasts this year. Sony's entire current 2001 line of UniLink in -dash car stereo receivers are XM Satellite-ready, enabling XM Satellite Radio subscribers to receive 100 channels of digital-quality music, news, sports, talk and children's programming when connected to the Sony Mobile XM Tuner available next spring.More than 1.3 million Sony Mobile UniLink in-dash car receivers already in the market are forward compatible with the Sony Mobile XM Tuner, which will receive an XM satellite signal virtually anywhere in the continental U. S.

The Sony mobile XM Tuner joins Sony's "Plug-and-Play " XM satellite radio receiver, the DRN-XM01, which can be used not only in the car, but also in the home and office. About the size of a CD Walkman personal stereo, the DRN-XM01 comes bundled with a docking cradle, small antenna, remote control and other mounting accessories for self- or custom installation in a vehicle or within a home entertainment system.
The DRN-XM01 unit will be available in custom and self-installation car and home bundles along with option kits. The bundles are expected to sell for approximately: Custom Installation Car Bundle, $399; Self-Installation Car Bundle, $299; Home Bundle, $299; Home/Office Kit (for those who bought car bundle), $129; and Car Kit (for those who bought home bundle), $129.
