Alpine Ships New In-Vehicle DVD Changer; Expands 2001 Changer Product Line

Alpine Electronics of America announced that it is currently shipping the DVD Changer, the newest addition to Alpine's changer product line. The DHA-S680 6-Disc DVD/CD/Video CD Changer supplements Alpine's current, best-selling line of CD changers and offers more mobile in-vehicle entertainment options for consumers. The addition of the DHA-S680 6-Disc DVD/CD/Video CD Changer provides consumers the opportunity to broaden their playback capability to include music and video, in essence expanding the customization options of their rear seat entertainment system. The DHA-S680 is an Ai-NET system component or can be used as a stand-alone changer for rear seat entertainment and includes Dolby Digital and DTS compatibility, as well as its own remote control. When combined with other Alpine products, such as the TMX-R680A overhead monitor, Dolby Digital processor and Bass Engine* Ready amplifiers and speakers, the "home theater in a car" experience never looked or sounded better. "Alpine's goal has been to give customers more options to utilize their DVD investment inside the car," says Stephen Witt, Alpine's vice president of Brand Marketing. "The DVD Changer is a flexible product based on the same dependable technology used to create Alpine's industry-leading CD changers. With the DHA-S680, consumers can expand the DVD home theater experience into the mobile environment." The DHA-S680 features optical digital output for connection to digital processors, video output and two-channel mix-down pre-outs for easy system building. Due to its size, the changer can be mounted in five different positions for easy installation.
