Now, for the first time ever, DEI engineers have designed a security system that plugs directly into the digital databus! [Unlike DEI’s Innovations Award-winning JIM Jeep Interface Module, which acts as an interface between the vehicle databus and a separate security system.] The new Automate 417 plugs directly into the databus of late model Grand Cherokees, and also certain GM Class II databus vehicles such as the Cadillac Seville and DeVille, enabling fast, reliable upgrade from factory keyless to full security. The Automate 417 upgrades a factory keyless entry system to a full security system, with shock sensor, siren and sophisticated "brain" module. The system uses the factory keyless entry transmitters that come with the vehicle to control the security system, using the unlock button to disarm the system, and the lock button to arm it.
The new Automate 417 is sophisticated enough to know which vehicle it is being installed on, and configures itself accordingly. Also, since the digital messages on the databus are different if you unlock with the remote versus unlocking using a switch inside the vehicle, a thief will never be able to disarm the system by breaking a window and unlocking with the switch.
The revolutionary Automate 417 is able to derive both door trigger and trunk trigger from the databus, eliminating the need for these hard-wire connections to the vehicle. Because of this, consumers benefit by the fast, reliable digital connection to their vehicle, with decreased disassembly and cutting of wires.
Automate security and convenience systems (including remote start systems) are available at new car dealerships from coast to coast. For more information, call 800-685-0500.
