Rockford Fosgate recently continued its mission of training the world’s most vicious car audio clients by conducting Rockford Technical Training Institute (RTTI) seminars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Shanghai, China. More than 200 Fanatics gathered over the course of five days in two countries to learn the latest in fabrication and installation techniques from the award-winning RTTI staff. The first training was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and hosted by Rockford Fosgate Distributor Pro-Ice. The one-day seminar consisted of new products trainings and seminars on ABS plastics, the Nissan Frontier, and 5.1 surround sound.
"Ensuring that our clients worldwide know the importance of learning and implementing the latest in fabrication and installation techniques is a top priority for Rockford," explains Jim Henry, international sales manager for Rockford Corporation. "These seminars were a tremendous success for everyone involved…on both sides of the Pacific. Our hosts were very accommodating and the seminar attendees were very eager to learn. We want to thank them all for helping make these trainings the best ever."
Adds Bryan Schmitt, RTTI’s senior designer/fabricator, "It was a very unique experience, to say the least. I think we learned as much as the seminar attendees did as far as how their markets differ from the American market. What we learned over there gave us fresh perspectives and will enable us to expand how we can fabricate even better vehicles in the future."
The second portion of the trip included four days of intense training in Shanghai, China. Hosted by Rockford Fosgate Distributor Shanghai Forward Group, RTTI’s trainings consisted of seminars on ABS plastics, the Nissan Frontier, SPL, and 5.1 surround sound, as well as 12 Volt fundamentals and workshop design and setup. RTTI also attended the Auto Exhibition Shanghai 2001. Rockford’s own Hou-chi Brooks of the Tech Repair department in Tempe, Arizona conducted all translations.
