According to Wayne Harris, president of dBDRA, "The 2002 dB Drag World Finals will be the 4th time for us in Nashville. Nashville is a great place to host the event since it is centrally located for the majority of our competitors, not to mention a great city with a lot of nightlife for everyone."

Located on the ground level, the 118,675 square foot Exhibit Hall of the Nashville Convention Center offers unlimited floor load, 27 foot ceilings, minimal column obstructions and easy set-up and break-down with drive on access through two 20 -x 15- foot doors that lead from the underground truck ramp. Six loading docks and three freight elevators provide additional access to the main hall floor.

The open floorplan of the facility allows all dB Drag Finalists to have their own personal pit stall with an electric hook up for the duration of the event. "By having all of the vehicles in the facility, it allows for competitors to open up their vehicles and show off to the spectators," Harris remarks.

dB Drag Racing is a contest where competitors compete against one another in an effort to see who has the loudest car stereo system. Our rules are simple and the judging format is objective. What sets dB Drag Racing apart from other SPL based contests is our head-to-head bracket style elimination format. For the first time ever, a sound-off competition is actually fun to watch. This is one of the primary factors behind dB Drag Racing’s skyrocketing popularity. The World Finals is not just a single event, it is a culmination of 1000 smaller events that take place throughout the competition season.
