For years, car audio manufacturers have designed and built amplifiers that were either designed for sonic performance with a limited current capability or a high current design that was sonically inferior. A continuously variable, 24dB per octave digital crossover with selectable HP/LP/All Pass settings leads off the features included in this amplifier. The power input and speaker output terminals are gold-plated screw types, for maximum contact area and extreme reliability. The SA50X uses a 100 percent MOSFET circuit topology, with both the power supply and amplification sections using the largest and most sophisticated MOSFET devices available. This allows for maximum power output and reliability.

The power supply is a massive unit, employing a 1600-watt Toroidal transformer with 36000mF of reserve capacitance and capable of producing a whopping 392 amps of output current. This equates to over 48 amps of current capability at each speaker output! To reliably transfer this much power to your speakers, the SA50X uses 6oz. copper traces on every section of the circuit board. Additionally, the power supply is tightly regulated using "Current Mode™" technology (within 10mv from 9v to 16v), again to maximize power output.

A variety of protection schemes keep your investment safe from typical car audio mishaps. Over temperature (100 degrees C), DC offset, short circuit and reverse current conditions are all addressed, providing you with an amplifier you will enjoy for life.
