During the last school year Polk Audio and Circuit City held a competition in conjunction with CAR SOUND magazine. The basic idea behind the competition was to identify and reward up and coming Installers through High Schools all over the United States. Many young installers entered through their local Circuit City and of those a little over 100 fulfilled the requirements of the competition which included Installation of a sound system (system must have been installed without professional help) and presentation of a sound system. The entries were reviewed by a team of experts at CAR SOUND and the following three individuals were selected as the Grand Prize Winners:Jeremiah Clifton MacWay of Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, California, for his installation in a 1991 Pontiac Gran Prix.
Christian Howard Sease of Waynesboro Area Senior High School in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, for his installation in a 1997 S-10 SS pickup truck.
Dean Thompson of Broomfield High School in Broomfield, Colorado, for his installation in a 1994 Mistubishi Galant.
Congratulations to all of these Grand Prize Winners who will be receiving an all-expense-paid one week enrollment at the Installer Institute in Florida, a $1000 gift certificate to Circuit City, and a feature article in a future issue of CAR SOUND.
There were also ten $1000 Circuit City Gift Certificates awarded to second place winners, and 20 $500 Polk Audio Gift Certificates awarded to third place winners. The top 100 finalists received a free one-year subscription to CAR SOUND magazine. Congratulations to all!
