Kazuo Nagai, president of Toyo Tire (USA), has been named general manager, Overseas Operations Division for Toyo Tire & Rubber Ltd. headquartered in Tokyo. S. Kibata, president of Toyo Canada, Inc. (TCI), will replace Mr. Nagai, effective August 1, 1999.In his new position at the company's Tokyo headquarters, Mr. Nagai will be responsible for all international aftermarket tire sales. Mr. Nagai, who has held his current position since 1996, has a long-standing sales and marketing background with Toyo, both in the United States and Japan. During his tenure at the helm of Toyo (USA), he oversaw the move of corporate headquarters from Compton to Cypress, and the completion of a new warehouse in Ontario, California.
Mr. Kibata has been president of Toyo Canada for three years. He has held a variety of sales and marketing positions throughout his 30-year tenure with the company.
"This is a strong move for Toyo," says Nagai. "Mr. Kibata comes to us with a great background in tires and how they're marketed. We anticipate a seamless transition, as Mr. Kibata shares my focus on supporting the independent tire dealer."
Mr. Kakuna, Toyo's team leader for North American and Mexican markets in Tokyo, will replace Kibata at TCI.
