AudioControl announced that they have begun shipping the EPIC-150, the latest addition to their line of unique in-dash mobile sound products. The AudioControl EPIC-150 in-dash processor maximizes bass performance while displaying the sound pressure level (SPL) at the same time. The EPIC-150 starts the magic by utilizing the patented bass restoration circuit of The Epicenter and offering it in a compact and efficient in-dash chassis. Not stopping there, the EPIC-150 includes and SPL meter and LED display that will show the system’s acoustical output.
"Over the years, many AudioControl customers have bragged about how The Epicenter has increased their SPL levels by up to 12 decibels," exclaims Chris Kane, national sales manager of AudioControl. "The new EPIC-150 utilizes The Epicenter’s patented bass restoration circuitry which actually adds lower octaves of bass to any performance auto sound system. In addition, we have also included our Para-Bass equalization, which allows the user to fine-tune the bass response to their specific vehicle. The net result is more bass…louder."
In addition to allowing users to maximize their bass response, the new EPIC-150 offers a specially designed microphone mounted within the front panel that can measure up to 150 dB. The SPL is then shown on an LED display on the front panel of the EPIC-150. Optionally, users of the EPIC-150 may select to see their SPL measurement constantly updating or in a peak hold mode. The display also will show the system’s power voltage with 1/10th volt resolution.
The EPIC-150 is housed in a convenient 1/2-inch DIN sized chassis with all of the user controls mounted on the front panel for easy access. Like many AudioControl products, the EPIC-150 provides speaker level inputs and the ability to output signal as high as 13 volts.
Shipping now, the EPIC-150’s suggested retail price is $299.99.
