2002 International CES Promises a Full Spectrum of Workstyle and Lifestyle Technologies
The birthplace of new technology promises to be the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, when 2002 International CES returns to town January 8 to 11, 2002. The 2002 International CES will showcase the latest innovations from more than 2,000 international exhibitors in digital video, high-end or "extreme" audio, wireless communications, accessories, CE fashion, consumer technology networking, broadband, mobile electronics, content media, new business technology, delivery systems and the Internet.

More than 110,000 industry professionals from 110 countries attend the world’s premier technology and education networking event, accounting for 89 percent of the industry’s buying power. Online attendee registration opens July 1, 2001 at www.CESweb.org.

For the first time in more than a decade, the International CES will move its dates to weekdays (Tuesday-Friday). By holding the International CES in Las Vegas, attendees enjoy mild weather and luxurious hotel accommodations with a special CES rate. Plus, visitors to Las Vegas are not required to stay over a Saturday night to receive discounted airfare.

The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) recently topped off construction on its 1.3 million square foot, $150 million South Hall expansion. The 2002 International CES will serve as the hall’s inaugural event with the LVCC now housing more than 3.2 million square feet of total space.

"We are thrilled to announce that we have already sold more than 90 percent of exhibit space available for the 2002 CES," says Karen Chupka, vice president of events and conferences for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer, sponsor, and manager of CES. "We’ve experienced an outpouring of companies clamoring to get on the 2002 CES show floor and demonstrate their amazing innovations to the hundreds of thousands attendees from all parts of the globe."
