Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. announced the shipping of its latest product for rear seat entertainment - the TMX-R680A overhead monitor. This new product supplements an already full line of products specifically designed for rear seat entertainment and allows consumers to customize any in-vehicle entertainment system. The TMX-R680A monitor drops down with a single touch and can be adjusted using Alpine's own SmartView swivel mechanism. SmartView allows the large 6.8-inch LCD overhead monitor to stay horizontal regardless of the angle to allow perfect viewing from all rear seats. This monitor can also be paired with Alpine's wireless headphones. The overhead monitor is equipped with a remote controlled dome light. With the TMX-R680A, Alpine expands its line-up of customizable rear seat entertainment products. Alpine has also developed a line of custom fit consoles for popular SUV models, as well as a semi-universal console that can be used in a wide variety of vehicles. All consoles come with a special mounting plate that is easy and safe to install. Once installed, the console has a "built-in" factory look, which integrates the monitor with the vehicle's interior. The TMX-R680A can display the passenger's own choice of video source, such as DVD, VCR, TV tuner or video game system. This piece can be used as a stand-alone rear seat entertainment system or as part of a fully integrated mobile multimedia system that would include front and rear video entertainment, 5.1 Dolby digital surround and navigation."The TMX-R680A is yet another offering from Alpine which will enable customers to personalize their rear seat entertainment needs," says Stephen Witt, Alpine's vice president of Brand Marketing.
