The early dawn skies of Arizona lit the way for the judges’ arrival to Phoenix on Friday and the beginning of the Wild West Shootout. While the competitors had already begun their caravan across the U.S., the anticipation is mounting. The grounds at the Peoria Sports Complex are getting their final touches and the spectators are awaiting the opening of the gates at 12 noon on Sunday, June 3. As in most scenes in the Wild West, this too will be one that should be remember for a long time to come. In the “Old West,” the Marshall’s were the ones who brought justice and righteousness to the towns and villages – at the Wild West Shootout, the order will be maintained and hard work will be awarded by a new breed of judges, a group that will then move on to help spread the word of proper behavior and standards to judges all over the U.S. Much as the Marshall’s of the past helped change their world, these judges hope to do the same as well.
Not only are the Judges of the highest caliber, but the competitors are the top of the sport and will be challenged in a way that they never have before. Not only will they endure the heat of the desert, but the heat of the competition that they will all be subjected to. There will be five vehicles at this year’s Wild West Shootout, and they will be run through the lanes by the following competitors:
Will Adcock
Gary Biggs
Steve Brown
Mark Eldridge
Phil Petrecca
No one knows who will win, but these brave champions have stepped forward to put their systems and themselves to the test, and for the reward of being named the first ever “Wild West Champion!”
