DEI Reports Same Price for Super-Het
DEI has announced that both the Viper 600 ESP and Sidewinder 6000 ESP vehicle security and convenience systems are now shipping with a super-heterodyne receiver, as well as new style remote transmitters that were introduced at CES 2000. DEI reports that these significant improvements come with no increase in price.

"It's all about creating excitement in the marketplace," states Glenn Busse, DEI's VP of sales & marketing. "By offering better technology at the same price, DEI strengthens our position as the industry leader."

Super-heterodyne technology is currently used in DEI's top-of-the-line security and remote start systems in the Viper, Python, and Sidewinder lines. By adding an optional range extender antenna to the new Viper 600 and Sidewinder 6000 ESP systems, the units will have the same Super High Frequency (SHF) range as those high-end systems, which routinely achieve range of 1,000 feet, and have been measured at more than a quarter-mile under optimum conditions.

In addition to increased range, the two systems are the first to ship with DEI's new-style Viper and Sidewinder remotes, which are both aesthetically and technologically superior to the old style remotes. Both feature three-year Lithium batteries, a great consumer benefit.

"DEI intends to transition to super-het and new style remotes with many of our other systems in the near future," adds Busse. "Next in line for an upgrade is the award-winning Python 1000 ESP."
