Tweeter Home Entertainment Group is announcing the first Tweeter Car Stereo "Slam Fest" at the Tweeter Center For The Performing Arts in Mansfield on Saturday May 20th and Sunday May 21st, from 10 AM - 6 PM. The event, which is free and open to the public, will include a car stereo sales blowout, Key IASCA and Custom Car events, local bands and radio personalities, and prizes given away every hour."The Tweeter Car Stereo Slam Fest 2000 marks the first event of its kind in the New England area," says Noah Herschman, vice president of marketing for Tweeter Home Entertainment Group. "We have worked to accomplish a combination of high-end car stereo products, extraordinary bargains, tricked-out cars, window-rattling bass, and exciting competitions that will create the loud, high-energy environment that our target audience, Gen Y, thrives in. "
The Tweeter Car Stereo Slam Fest 2000 will feature two full days of manufacturers' closeouts on mid- to high-end car stereo equipment brought in especially for this event including speakers, amps, woofers, CD changers, and head-units. The products are from vendors such as Alpine, Xtant, JL Audio, Xplod, Kenwood, and Boston Acoustics, and wireless phone service from Sprint PCS. Basic installations will also be done on site. In addition, vendor demonstration vehicles will be on display along with the Tweeter Truck, featuring the ultimate in mobile entertainment with a $150,000 install.
There will be a key IASCA (International Auto Sound Challenge Association) event including a Sound Quality Challenge and IdBL bass-off. Hardcore car stereo fanatics will battle for double points that qualify them for the IASCA Finals in Oklahoma City. Beginners can enter the IdBL competitions, which equal the playing field by determining divisions based on the measurements and number of woofers in the system. In addition there will be a SLAP (Sound Looks And Performance) event and a Glow-Off.
Other entertainment components include local bands on the main stage, the Ski Market BMX Bikers, and radio personality appearances from 94.5 WJMN and 104.1 WBCN out of Boston and 106.3 WWKX out of Providence. The AIDS Action Committee will also be on hand to raise awareness among the event's young attendees.
