Pioneer has announced that it has officially launched the "It's Loud in Here" tour - an 18 wheeler semi-truck mobile showroom. The 18 wheeler rig will house an "in-car theater," as well as a sound room to show off amplifiers, subwoofers, and head units. The company also plans to use the 18-wheeled as a training ground for corporate and dealer personnel.Pioneer plans to create car audio excitement with the vehicle by following the CART race schedule, while also providing Pioneer dealers in neighboring cities the opportunities to capitalize on race activities with special promotional events. The truck will also be present at road shows, IASCA events, and other industry events. The vehicle made its debut at the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL.
"We have developed this mobile demonstration as a platform that will highlight our most innovative products," states Todd Goodnight, brand manager, car electronics. "The Pioneer truck will allow consumers to experience the newest car and home audio visual entertainment products. It will feature true 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound for the car and showcase the latest advancements in home video systems, such as HDTV-ready plasma television sets."
There are five main areas incorporated into the truck: a visual audio room showing mobile multimedia entertainment, including the world's first DVD changer for the car; a source, amplifier, and subwoofer room; a future technologies room with XM satellite radio, DVD technology, and Organic EL displays; the latest gadgets in home entertainment; the #97 Pioneer Electronics/MCI WorldCom Champ car showcar and a Ford Explorer Sport-Trac demo vehicle to showcase Pioneer's "visual audio" products.
Pioneer has contracted with National Tours to drive the tractor/trailer, set up the displays, and keep all the necessary travel logs. The driver is trained on all Pioneer product, in order to be able to answer any questions posed by visitors to the display.
