Stillwater Designs Hosts Canadian Dealers For Annual Visit
Many of Canada’s top car audio retail specialists and sales representatives spent the weekend of February 23–24 strengthening relationships and discussing business with associates at Stillwater Designs, the manufacturer of KICKER car audio components.

Associates from Precor, the Canadian distributor of KICKER products, accompanied the dealers on their trip to Oklahoma, which is becoming an annual event. Precor ranks among the top three KICKER international distributors in total volume sold, and it has also been with Stillwater Designs longer than any other international distributor. Because of the company’s work in 2000, it received the prestigious KICKER "International Excellence" award at the 2001 CES in January.

Stillwater Designs Director of International Marketing Joe Akin and the SD International Team served as hosts for the two-day affair, showing their guests where and how KICKER components are manufactured and disclosing additional information the group can use in the business world upon returning home.

"Due to limited exposure to manufacturers, dealers are sometimes unsure about what to expect when visiting one," states Akin. "They see a different way of doing business here at Stillwater Designs. We expose them to the ‘family’ concept and make them realize the focus is on them, not necessarily the product or us. They leave here excited and hopefully feeling like they belong, because they do. We feel it really has enormous impact to the Canadian market."

During part of their stay Friday, the group toured the plant and listened to Stillwater Designs President and founder Steve Irby give insights about the company’s history and the developmental process of the Solo-Baric L7 Subwoofer.

Saturday’s schedule included a technology-based seminar and a trip to the local paintball course.
