JENSEN Car Audio, which is promotionally tied into a host of sports, including NASCAR, the NBA, the NHL, NFL and NCAA football, has signed its first wrestling deal. Together with its dealer in Detroit, Mickey Shorr, JENSEN is sponsoring a contest during the popular "WWF Smackdown" show on UPN 50 in the Motor City."Professional wrestling has become a very popular sport over the last several years and its TV ratings reflect that. We are pleased to join with our Detroit dealer, Mickey Shorr, in sponsoring this unique promotion," states Meril Weinstein, JENSEN Car Audio director of marketing services.
The contest, called "Millen's Mickey Shorr/JENSEN Smackdown Move of the Week," challenges viewers to identify specific wrestling moves performed by a WWF (World Wrestling Federation) wrestler. Contestants must either send in a postcard or enter on UPN 50's Web site. Winners are randomly selected from correct answers. The weekly winner receives a JENSEN Car Audio system and is eligible for the Grand Prize, a VIP night at a February WWF event.
JENSEN Car Audio will be highly visible in this promotion. The company will have a 30-second commercial within the WWF Smackdown show, which is hosted by UPN 50 sports reporter, Jerry Millen. A crawl during that commercial will alert viewers to the contest. In addition, the contest and JENSEN Car Audio will appear prominently on the UPN 50 Web site. The 30-second commercial can also be seen on JENSEN's Web site.
