New IdBL Rulebook For The 1999-2000 Season Available
The International AutoSound Challenge Association (IASCA) has announced the availability of a new and updated rulebook for competitors participating in IASCA's IdBL SPL competition.

Changes to the rulebook include improvements in IdBL's popular "Woofer Cone Area" SPL format which now makes it more equitable for all competitors in all classes and divisions of competition.

IdBL will offer three divisions which will replace the former Consumer and Industry divisions: Stock (designed for competition amongst consumers only), Advanced, and Ultimate Divisions (both of which will allow Consumers and Pros to compete against each other.) Each division is based on the degree of modifications made to the vehicles rather than the competitor's career or job history.

The four classes in the Stock Division are maximized at two 10-inch woofers, two 12-inch woofers, two 15-inch woofers, or four 15-inch woofers. The vehicle must be completely "stock" from the trailing edge of the front doors forward. These changes were made to eliminate the indimidation factor that consumer competitors may experience while competing with vehicles with much larger woofer combinations.

Additional changes include the elimination of the "head-to-head" and "bracket" style competition format.

According to Mike Jaffe, executive director of IASCA, "We made this change in response to the many requests received from our competitors. By removing bracket-style elimination rounds, we speed up the contest and make them easier for the retailer to run."

In summary, Jaffe adds, "The timing of the release of this book for the 1999 Finals would not have been possible without the valuable assistance of Greg Pauley of Metro Audio Dynamics in Omaha, NE, Terry Miller of AudioSports, Inc., and Ron Trout, IASCA's president. I am grateful for their feedback and unwavering support of the IASCA organization."

The 1999-2000 IdBL Rulebook carries a suggested retail price of $5.
