Once again, the nation’s car audio dealers ranked Stillwater Designs products among car stereo’s elite in the annual AudioVideo International Autosound Grand Prix Awards. Nine products from the manufacturer of KICKER car audio equipment in Stillwater, Oklahoma, garnered recognition in the annual survey of U.S. car stereo retailers. This is the greatest number of KICKER products ever to receive this prestigious honor in a single year.The KICKER Solo-Baric S12L7 subwoofer, the world’s first square speaker designed to reproduce bass frequencies in car audio applications, was recognized with a special Technology Award.
The eight Stillwater Designs components earning Product-of-the-Year accolades include: KICKER ZR1000 Stereo Power Amplifier; KICKER ZR600 Stereo Power Amplifier; KICKER ZX460 Four Channel Power Amplifier; KICKER Impulse IX704 Four Channel Power Amplifier; KICKER Impulse IX405D Five Channel Power Amplifier; KICKER XPL X15c 15-inch Subwoofer; KICKER DE-X10c Subwoofer Enclosure; and KICKER SS1200 Full-Range Speaker System
The Autosound Grand Prix is conducted by AudioVideo International, a trade publication in the 12-volt aftermarket industry. Winners were announced in the magazine’s March, 2000, issue. According to the magazine, Autosound Grand Prix Awards are based on sound reproduction quality, engineering, reliability, craftsmanship and product integrity, and value–to–price relationship, as determined by the magazine’s readers. In 1999, six products earned "Product of the Year" honors.
