Sound Looks And Performance Association (SLAP) Announces 2001 Excellence Awards
The Sound Looks And Performance Association (SLAP) has announced the winners of the 2001 SLAPshow.com Excellence Awards. The awards are in recognition of the extraordinary efforts and support of SLAPshow.com's auto enthusiast events during 2001.

Three retailers are being honored for their outstanding support of the auto enthusiast hobby. The Retailer of The Year winners are: Double Diamond Audio of Lebanon, NH, (Single Store); Car Toys of Tulsa, OK, (Multi-Store); and Canton, MA-based Tweeter (Large Chain).

Re-Source of Buford, GA, was selected as Rep Firm of The Year. Re-Source employees Hunter Kirkman, John Marsh, Marc Richmond, and Nathan Kubitzky worked tirelessly in 2001 to promote the growth of auto enthusiast events across their Southeast territory.

Two volunteer event coordinators are being honored for efforts in making sure events operate smoothly. Event Coordinators of The Year Calvin Louie of Atlanta, GA, and Mike Galligan of Warwick, RI, each went beyond the call of duty to promote events in their areas. Both gentlemen stepped in to coordinate the Georgia Motor Fest in Perry, GA, in August of 2001 when event coordinator Terry Miller was injured in an accident and was unable to attend the event. Louie was also presented a new AudioControl Real Time Analyzer (RTA) as a "Thank You" for his tireless efforts and support of SLAPshow.com over the past several years.

SLAP provides event-sanctioning standards and judging rules for three types of auto enthusiast events -- car shows, sound pressure level, and sound quality competitions. The judging formats are known as SLAPshow-N-Shine, SLAPdB and SLAPdBq, respectively. SLAP is managed by SLAPshow.com Event Management, which also coordinates the vast majority of SLAP auto enthusiast events in the US. For more information on SLAP, visit SLAPshow.com or call (478) 475-1027.

Audio Enhancers Moves Plant Operations
Audio Enhancers has moved plant operations to Ardmore, TN. The new 15,000-sq.ft facilities will give Audio Enhancers four times the cubic space they had in their previous location. Past Time Studies have indicated that the increase space alone should contribute to 30 to 40 percent increased production.

Once the move is complete, the first focus will be towards establishing and maintaining inventory in a ready to ship status. Once this is accomplished, Audio Enhancers plans on diversifying and building for the musical instrument, public address and home markets industries. In the past years, due to limitations, the company has actually turned away business. They feel that this will be a thing of the past; going forward they will welcome all business regardless of the size.

Venom Introduces VCN-1000 Computerized Nitrous System
The VCN-1000 is Venom’s new entry-level nitrous system. The system is built using Venom’s proprietary closed loop fuel control system which ensures the proper air fuel ratio under all operating conditions. The system features an advanced microprocessor based control module that will automatically terminate the flow of nitrous if the air fuel mixture becomes too lean.

You control the flow of nitrous to your engine using various sized nozzles (each kit contains four nozzles). The module will automatically control the fuel flow to your engine using your existing fuel injectors. No modifications to fuel pressure of fuel system plumbing is required, and best of all it works on new fuel systems that do not include a fuel return line.

The system includes a driver information display that indicates the air fuel mixture (rich/lean) and system status.
