Peripheral Electronics, AAMP of America’s innovative OEM Integration division, announced that it is shipping its iPod and Auxiliary Audio Input OEM Integration Solution for select late-model Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep CANBUS vehicles. The interface, CHYP, gives customers extended iPod and iPhone control, an additional audio source input, and digital-quality sound.

The CHYP works with the 2004-2007 Durango; 2005-2007 Charger, Dakota, Grand Cherokee, Magnum, and 300; 2006-2007 Ram; and 2007 Aspen, Caliber, Commander, Compass, and Patriot. It interfaces with RAK, RAQ, and REC Series radios, and is compatible with iPhone and iPod Nano, Photo, Mini, Gen3, Gen4, and Gen5.

The CHYP allows users to track forward and back for songs from either their iPod or iPhone, factory radio, or steering wheel controls (if equipped). An audio auxiliary input also enables digital-quality sound from additional audio sources like MP3 and DVD players, game systems, and satellite radio tuners. The CHYP is compatible with factory-installed satellite radio, and even charges an iPod or iPhone internal battery while in use.

As mobile electronics devices become more popular, the demand grows for convenient, high-quality solutions that bring those devices into the automobile.
